Job Description

Overview:

The Assistant Service Manager (ASM) assists the service manager/director in the running of the service department.The ASM is a front line customer service representative and gathers information from the customer so technicians can solve their problems and help maintain their vehicle according to factory recommended maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Schedules service appointments.
• Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
• Check customer vehicles for open recalls
• Writes up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order.
• Test drives the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem or refers to test technician.
• Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
• Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Provides a complete and accurate cost estimate for labor and parts.
• Establishes "promised time."
• Tracks the progress of a customer's vehicle and keeps the customer informed.
• Explain repairs and maintenance and ensure a smooth re-delivery of the vehicle to the customer.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
• Excellent communications skills required.
